" in the forest where leaves never fall "

As one of my final pieces for my BFA show at UC San Diego, I wanted to integrate processes from an animation pipeline into the creation of fine art. Thus, I utilized a narrative and character designs as the base of this work, and expanded upon one scene out of this larger story:
In this narrative, a girl, a lion cub, and a bird traverse through a fantasy world found at the end of childhood, whose inhabitants embody the girl's reluctance to grow older. For this scene, the trio of characters wander through the forest "where leaves never fall", and meet an old tree who is unable to shed its leaves.
